Joshua’s Reset: A Shy Pup Finds His Family

Joshua is a sweet golden and white Lab mix who just needed a little time to show people who he really was.

He could be shy when meeting someone new, but once Joshua realized he was safe, his personality completely changed. He became a loving cuddlebug who wanted nothing more than to be close to the people he trusted.

When Joshua found his future owner in Northern Illinois, we wanted to make sure he was ready for such a big change. Rescue Reset fostered Joshua for the week leading up to his adoption, giving him a comfortable place to adjust, build his confidence, and prepare for his new home.

During that week, Joshua was able to settle in and let more of his personality shine. That extra time and support helped make the transition easier for both Joshua and his new owner.

At the end of the week, Joshua officially headed to his new home in Northern Illinois!

Joshua’s reset shows that sometimes adoption support means more than simply finding a home. A little extra time, patience, and preparation can help give a dog the confidence they need to start their next chapter.
